Why can't I find the 'Register' link?
You can click here, or register with your Google account.
The consumer has paid and I have sent in my artwork, but the platform hasn't disbursed the funds to me yet. Is my money safe?
Rest assured, your funds are fully protected.
Our platform employs a strict "third-party escrow mechanism." After payment, funds are independently held by a legitimate third-party payment institution and do not go directly into the platform's account. Therefore, the platform itself has absolutely no possibility of misappropriating your funds.
💰 Payment Process: Buyer Confirmation: Once the consumer confirms receipt of the artwork, the system will immediately trigger the payment process.
- Automatic Trigger: If the consumer does not manually confirm within the timeframe (e.g., 7 days after arrival), the system will automatically consider the transaction complete and execute the payment.
- Deposit Time: After the funds are officially disbursed, they are expected to be transferred to your designated account within 7 business days.
🔍 If you have not received payment after the deadline, please follow these steps:
- Check Status: Check the latest status of the order in the "Transaction Records" section of the backend.
- Contact Customer Service: If the status is abnormal, please contact online customer service and provide your "order number."
- Dedicated Processing: We will complete the verification and proactively reply to you within 3 business days. We deeply understand that every artwork represents the creator's hard work.
The platform solemnly promises that as long as the order is placed and the artwork is successfully shipped, your accounts receivable will be protected with the strictest safeguards.
Can a creator sell paintings, and the buyer be allowed to copy the paintings and resell them?
This request is entirely reasonable and a very common practice in the legal and art markets.
Many people misunderstand this by thinking, "Once I buy this painting, it's mine, and I can use it however I want." However, purchasing a physical painting (ownership) and owning the intellectual property rights (copyright) of that painting are completely separate matters.
Below, we'll break down why this is reasonable and what methods creators can use to restrict buyers:
Why is this request entirely reasonable?
-
In copyright law: The buyer buys "ownership": After paying, the buyer owns the "physical combination of canvas and paint." They can hang the painting in their living room, give it to a friend, or later resell the physical painting unchanged.
-
The creator retains "copyright": Unless the creator explicitly contracts to transfer copyright when selling the painting, the rights of reproduction, adaptation, and digital distribution of the painting still belong entirely to the creator.
Therefore, if a buyer "copies (photographs, scans, prints) and resells," it directly constitutes copyright infringement (piracy) under the law. The creator's demand that the other party not copy and resell is simply protecting their existing legal rights.
How can creators restrict and prevent this?
Although the law is on the creator's side, to prevent buyers from breaking the law due to ignorance or deliberately exploiting loopholes, creators can take the following four preventative measures:
1. Sign a "Purchase Agreement" or "Licensing Terms" (Most Effective)
During the transaction, regardless of the amount, it is best to prepare a simple written agreement (an electronic contract is also acceptable) and have the buyer sign it.
Example Terms:
- "The buyer purchases ownership of the original work only. Copyright of the work (including but not limited to the rights of reproduction, adaptation, digitization, and any commercial sale) remains with the creator. The buyer may not reproduce, print, commercialize, or resell this work in any form without the creator's written consent."
2. Accompanying "Certificate of Authenticity"
This is the most common practice in the art world. On the back or below the original artwork certificate provided to the buyer (stating the work's title, dimensions, medium, and year of creation), a rights statement is printed directly:
- "Note: This certificate only certifies that this work is an original. The creator retains all intellectual property rights to this work, and any unauthorized reproduction or commercial use is strictly prohibited."
This adds a professional and ceremonial feel to the work and serves as a strong legal reminder.
3. Mark the back of the painting or in a prominent place with the following mark:
Sign your name on the back of the painting (or the certificate) and write:
[Year of Creation] [Creator's Name]. All Rights Reserved.
While copyright is retained even without this, writing it down creates a direct psychological constraint on the buyer, preventing excuses like "I didn't know I couldn't copy it."
4. Digital Evidence and Anti-counterfeiting
-
If you're concerned about the other party scanning the artwork at high resolution:
-
The creator must retain the original digital file at the highest resolution, or a close-up photograph of a section of the work, as irrefutable proof of originality should any disputes arise in the future.
Some creators will make special marks in hidden places on the painting (such as inside the frame or along the edge of the canvas), or include a certificate with an anti-counterfeiting sticker.
In summary
-
Creators sell the "artwork itself," not the "copyright." Buyers who want to copy and profit must purchase a separate "commercial license" from you.
-
When selling a work, openly inform the buyer: "Thank you for your appreciation! Please note that this transaction only includes the original artwork; the copyright and reproduction rights remain with the creator!" This is a completely legitimate and professional means of protection.
